Chicago Symphony Orchestra

I've created over one hundred concert promotions (so far) for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Center Presents concert series, with the emphasis on "created." Researching the music and performers, writing the copy, selecting and editing the music, laying out and animating the graphics. One person taking the ball and running with it saves a lot of time and money for one of Chicago's great cultural institutions. In addition I helped create and produce the CSO podcast series Intermission @ the CSO, with thousands of regular subscribers.

Video post-production

Decades of experience with corporate, documentary, features, non-profits, politics, comedy…it's not just editing, but every detail involved in turning raw footage into a polished finished product. Latest accomplishments include post-production on the PBS program Eastland: Chicago's Deadliest Day (winner of two Midwest Emmys, including Best Historical Documentary), corporate videos for major pharmeceutical companies and political work for David Axelrod's AKPD Media.

Music and more

A lifelong musician and accomplished songwriter with work featured on Chicago radio and on MTV-award-winning videos. Composed music for a number of corporate clients, including Sara Lee and Commonwealth Edison. Additional experience as a radio host, web designer, videographer, on-site video producer…a little bit of everything, really.

Oh, another documentary about a school on Chicago's tough West Side? OK, but this isn't the video you'd expect, because it's not the school you'd expect. The video, like the school, is surprisingly sunny, upbeat and positive - a great story about one of Chicago's extraordinary treasures. Produced by Freeman Pictures for Bean Productions.

Heroes

Here's the most fun I had during the pandemic. Out of the blue I got a call from a group looking to create a demo for their Bowie cover band. I brought in Freeman Pictures, and the band got a video that far exceeded what they expected with their meager budget. So now we're their heroes.
